Electrabel Eemscentrale
In the Eemscentrale of Electrabel there are two emergency generators model: S12R-PTA, 980 KW, built in 1994. During the use of these industrial engines a fault had occurred, after that DET was contacted to find the cause of the failed diesel engine. DET’s specialists have conducted a complete check up of the emergency diesels. Part of the results from this investigation can be found in graph below. 
Conclusions drawn from the check up were that the problems were not caused by the SR engines, but were rather due to the electrical load during start up. The Mitsubishi engines in the generator set itself did still have enough power, which is a remarkable performance, taking into consideration that these engines have been on stand-by without any regular maintenance for 16 years.
