Measuring a Diesel Engine at Gebroeders de Jong
Gebroeders de Jong is in the business of building and revising ship engines. One of their customers had just had a new Mitsubishi diesel engine installed in his sailboat. This customer coutned on the reliability of the S4Q2-Z265 SPH to allow him to navigate safely between the Dutch and Scandinavian coasts. Unfortunately his personal measuring equipment turned up some unusual values and he wanted to have those checked.

After the customer had mentioned this, DET’s service team came to inspect the SQ-series engine the next morning. Our specialists have linked up the diesel engine to their own measuring equipment, in order to check the propulsion engines performance. After a thorough investigation, of which some measurements can be found in the graph below, DET was able to ensure the customer that the marine engine funtioned optimal. The unusual values from the original measurement were due to the measuring equipment on board not being as sophisticated as those DET works with.
This customer can now sail the North and Baltic seas with peace of mind.
